SEE ALSO...

G6PT Antibody (7B9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects G6PT protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-G6PT antibody (7B9) is available as a non-conjugated format. G6PT, also known as glucose-6-phosphate translocase, is a 429 amino acid multi-pass membrane protein located in the endoplasmic reticulum and belongs to the solute carrier family 37, member 4 (SLC37A4). G6PT functions to transport glucose-6-phosphate from the cytoplasm into the lumen of the endoplasmic reticulum, a process vital for maintaining cellular energy homeostasis. G6PT shows high expression in liver and kidney, where G6PT plays a significant role in glycogenolysis and gluconeogenesis, metabolic pathways essential for regulating blood glucose levels. G6PT is also involved in ATP-mediated calcium sequestration within the endoplasmic reticulum, highlighting G6PT′s importance in cellular signaling and metabolic regulation. Mutations in G6PT can lead to glycogen storage disease type 1B (GSD1B), a serious condition characterized by impaired glycogen metabolism, underscoring G6PT′s critical function in energy balance and metabolic health.
