FXYD3 Antibody (A-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG3 antibody that detects FXYD3 in mouse and rat samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). FXYD3, a member of the mammalian FXYD family, plays a crucial role in maintaining sodium and potassium gradients across cell membranes, which is essential for various physiological processes including renal sodium reabsorption, muscle contraction, and neuronal excitability. This 67 amino acid protein is particularly interesting due to its potential function as a chloride channel or regulator, which may influence cellular ion homeostasis and signaling pathways. FXYD3 is expressed in a subset of human breast tumors, suggesting a possible role in cancer biology, and shares partial homology with FXYD1, indicating potential functional similarities. FXYD3 features a putative 20 amino acid leader sequence and a transmembrane domain that includes two cysteine residues, which may be important for structural integrity and function. Notably, FXYD3 lacks consensus phosphorylation sites in its cytoplasmic domain, which could imply a unique regulatory mechanism compared to other members of the FXYD family. Anti-FXYD3 antibody (A-3) is an invaluable tool for researchers investigating the physiological and pathological roles of FXYD3 in various biological contexts.
