FOXR2 Antibody (2C1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects the FOXR2 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-FOXR2 antibody (2C1) is available as the non-conjugated format. The Forkhead-box (FOX) genes comprise a superfamily of at least 43 members that express proteins involved in transcriptional regulation and may be associated with the pathogenesis of various cancers. FOXR2, also known as Forkhead box protein R2 or FOXN6, is a 311 amino acid nuclear protein that belongs to the FOX family and contains one fork-head DNA-binding domain. FOXR2 plays a crucial role in regulating gene expression, particularly in the context of cancer, where FOXR2 is often overexpressed. The significance of FOXR2′s function lies in its ability to influence cellular processes such as proliferation and differentiation, which are critical in tumorigenesis. Notably, FOXR2 is not abundantly expressed in normal tissues but is found at very high levels in breast cancer and primary cancer cell lines, suggesting FOXR2′s potential as a biomarker for aggressive forms of cancer. Through chromosomal aberrations such as retroviral integration, gene amplification, or translocation, FOXR2 may contribute to the development of certain invasive carcinomas, making FOXR2 a target of interest for therapeutic interventions and research into cancer biology.

Can sc-517037: FOXR2 (2C1) monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: cjMara
Thank you for your question. Yes, sc-517037: FOXR2 (2C1) is recommended for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
