FNDC5 Antibody (173G2P) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects FNDC5 in human samples through western blotting (WB). FNDC5, also known as fibronectin type III domain containing 5 or FRCP2, is a 196 amino acid single-pass type I membrane protein that plays a crucial role in cellular processes by being imported into peroxisomes via the Peroxin 5 receptor pathway. FNDC5 exists in four alternatively spliced isoforms encoded by a gene located on human chromosome 1. This chromosome spans 260 million base pairs and contains over 3,000 genes, accounting for nearly 8% of the human genome, including many that are linked to conditions such as familial adenomatous polyposis, Stickler syndrome, Parkinson′s disease, Gaucher disease, schizophrenia, and Usher syndrome. FNDC5′s ability to interact with other proteins and diverse functional roles underscore its importance in both normal physiology and disease states, making anti-FNDC5 antibody (173G2P) an essential tool for researchers studying these critical biological processes.
