QUICK LINKS

Fluvoxamine maleate is a selective SR (serotonin reputake) inhibitor. It binds to the 5-HT transporter protein with high affinity (Ki = 1.6 nM) and demonstrates very low affinity at the norepinephrine transporter (Ki = 2,950 nM). Fluvoxamine maleate is a Sigma Receptor agonist. It has been in a number of in vitro experiments, including studies of its effects on serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake, the release of neurotransmitters, the expression of various proteins, cell viability, and the production of various cytokines.
