Fluticasone propionate is a high affinity, selective glucocorticoid receptor (GR) agonist (Kd = 0.5 nM). Fluticasone propionate potently stimulates glucocorticoid receptor-mediated transactivation of gene expression and enhances human eosinophil apoptosis (EC50 = 3.7 nM) in vitro. Fluticasone propionate is a lipophilic anti-inflammatory agent derived from flumethasone (sc-211520).
