Flutamide is an androgen receptor inhibitor with chemopreventive properties against bladder and prostate carcinogenesis. Flutamide inhibits the expression of testosterone regulated transforming growth factor beta-1 (TGF-beta1). This inhibition obstructs the activation of target cells by androgens, effectively impeding their desired impact.
