QUICK LINKS

Flupirtine-d4 Hydrochloride Salt is a labeled form of Flupirtine which acts as a selective neuronal potassium channel opener. Studies indicate that Flupirtine-d4 Hydrochloride Salt functions as a NMDA receptor antagonist. NMDA receptors are ionotropic receptors which send electrical signals between neurons of the brain and periphery. Studies show that Flupirtine-d4 Hydrochloride Salt specifically activates Kv7.4–Kv7.5 channels which relaxes smooth muscle. Researchers believe that the pyridine triamino structure of Flupirtine-d4 Hydrochloride Salt might be important in redox reactions. Alternate studies indicate that Flupirtine-d4 Hydrochloride Salt is used to prevent the neurodegeneration of brain tissue induced by tumor necrosis factor.
