    SEE ALSO...

Fluorescein Antibody (6A4) is a mouse monoclonal IgM antibody that detects Fluorescein protein of non-species reactive by western blotting (WB), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP). Anti-Fluorescein antibody (6A4) is available as a non-conjugated format, providing researchers with a versatile tool for various applications. Fluorescein, a well-known fluorophore, plays a crucial role in numerous scientific fields due to unique optical properties, including an absorption maximum at 490 nm and an emission maximum at 514 nm. Fluorescein′s structure, characterized by xanthene ring system, is essential for fluorescent capabilities, allowing effective utilization in microscopy and environmental testing. Fluorescein′s ability to emit bright fluorescence upon excitation makes Fluorescein invaluable in tracking water leaks in environmental studies, as well as serving as a diagnostic agent in ophthalmology, where topical application aids in identifying corneal abrasions, ulcers, herpetic infections, and dry eye conditions. With a molecular mass of 332.32 g/mol, Fluorescein can be synthesized through various methods, including reaction of phthalic anhydride and resorcinol in presence of zinc chloride or using methanesulfonic acid as a catalyst, further highlighting significance in both research and clinical applications.

Can sc-57585: Fluorescein (6A4) monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

    Asked by: Cweed
Thank you for your question. Yes, sc-57585: Fluorescein (6A4) is recommended for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
