Fluoranthene is an organic compound belonging to the polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH) family. It is one of the most widely studied PAHs due to its ubiquity in the environment and its potential toxicity. It is a common constituent of crude oil, coal tar, and cigarette smoke. It is also found in combustion products from motor vehicles, power plants, and industrial processes.
