QUICK LINKS

FIPI hydrochloride is a potent inhibitor of PLD (phospholipase D) specifically PLD 1 and PLD 2. Phospholipase D catalyzes the hydrolysis of phosphatidylcholine to form phosphatidic acid which is essential in many biological processes such as Ras activation, cell spreading, stress fiber formation, chemotaxis, and membrane vesicle trafficking. Studies suggest that FIPI hydrochloride hydrate can block the production of phosphatidic acid with subnanomolar potency. Alternate studies show that FIPI hydrochloride hydrate inhibits the O2- and cell migration in rat neutrophils. It has been observed that FIPI hydrochloride hydrate can regulate F-actin cytoskeleton rearrangement.
