SEE ALSO...

FHL-1 Antibody (H-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects FHL-1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). FHL-1 (H-4) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The four-and-a-half-LIM domain (FHL) proteins, which include FHL-1 (also known as SLIM1), play crucial roles in cellular signaling and gene regulation. FHL-1 is particularly important due to its involvement in the selective activation of transcription factors such as CREB and CREM, which are essential for processes like muscle differentiation and cardiac function. FHL-1 is predominantly expressed in skeletal and cardiac muscle, with lower levels found in smooth muscle tissues such as those in the colon, small intestine, and prostate. FHL-1 localizes to the cytosol of myoblasts, myotubes, and differentiated myocytes, highlighting its significance in muscle development and function. The distinct "half-domain" structure, characterized by a single zinc finger domain in the N-terminal region, sets FHL proteins apart from other LIM-only proteins, which typically contain multiple zinc fingers. This unique structural feature enables specific interactions and regulatory functions of FHL-1 within muscle tissues.

Can FHL-1 (H-4): sc-374246 monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: TinTin
Thank you for your question. Yes, FHL-1 (H-4): sc-374246 has been validated for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
