SEE ALSO...

FAP Antibody (F11-24) is a mouse monoclonal IgG antibody that detects FAP protein of human origin by immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and flow cytometry (FCM). Anti-FAP antibody (F11-24) is available as a non-conjugated format. Fibroblast activation protein (FAP) is a crucial cell surface glycoprotein and serine protease predominantly expressed in fetal mesenchymal tissues and in fibroblasts of epithelial cancers. FAP (F11-24) antibody promotes cellular proliferation, contributing to tumor growth and progression. During embryonic development, FAP is essential for remodeling developing tissues, highlighting FAP′s importance in both normal and pathological processes. Structurally, FAP is an integral membrane gelatinase composed of N-glycosylated, proteolytically inactive subunits, which underscores unique functional properties. FAP expression on chondrocyte membranes is upregulated by cytokines interleukin-1 and oncostatin M, and increases in patients with osteoarthritis. This expression is co-localized with matrix metalloproteinases MMP-1 and MMP-13, as well as CD44 variants v3 and v7/8, indicating involvement in complex cellular interactions. Mice lacking all copies of FAP gene remain fertile but exhibit developmental defects and altered cancer susceptibility, further emphasizing FAP′s critical role in both development and disease.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Doesn"t work on westernGot a free sample of this antibody with the aim of detecting FAP on CAFs vs normal fibroblasts from mouse and human origin. No signal detectable with different dilutions, neither in milk nor BSA. However this was expected, as this antibody is "not recommended to detect FAP using Western Blot". Didn't go for IP.
