FANCC Antibody (6E7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects FANCC protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-FANCC antibody (6E7) is available as the non-conjugated form. FANCC protein plays a crucial role in the Fanconi anemia (FA) pathway, which is essential for DNA repair and maintaining genomic stability. Mutations in FANCC gene can lead to Fanconi anemia, an autosomal recessive disorder characterized by bone marrow failure, developmental abnormalities, and increased susceptibility to cancer due to chromosomal instability. FANCC protein is located in both cytoplasm and nucleus, and expression is regulated throughout the cell cycle, peaking during M-phase, which is vital for function in DNA repair during cell division. Furthermore, FANCC interacts with other proteins in FA pathway, such as FANCA, to form a nuclear complex critical for repair of DNA interstrand cross-links. Interaction of FANCC with spectrin II protein enhances this complex′s stability, underscoring importance of protein-protein interactions in cellular processes. Additionally, in hematopoietic cells with mutant FANCC, protein kinase R (PKR) is constitutively activated, leading to increased sensitivity to inflammatory cytokines like interferon-gamma and tumor necrosis factor-alpha, which highlights FANCC′s role in regulating cellular responses to stress.
