Ethylene Glycol Mono-tert-butyl Ether is a biochemical used in the preparation of potent and selective NPY5 receptor antagonists. It is a chemical substance used in analytical methods to isolate the acetate extract from plant materials. It is also in the synthesis of PDE5 inhibitors, used to block the degradative action of phosphodiesterase 5. Shown to inhibit receptor binding of glycol esters and has been used as a low energy solid catalyst in organic reactions.
