QUICK LINKS

Ethyl sulfone is a reagent useful for the synthesis of heterocyclic compounds, such as β-ketosulfones, and in the preparation of sulfone-based electrolytes for aluminum electrodeposition. It is a strong reducing agent, but it can also act as an oxidizing agent and a catalyst. Overall, it is a useful starting material for the synthesis of a variety of organic compounds, such as esters, amides, and sulfones, and can be used as a solvent for various reactions.
