Ethyl (hydroxyimino)cyanoacetate is a non-explosive alternative to HOBt that has been found to produce higher yields in carbodiimide-mediated coupling reactions. It has been used as a reagent in the synthesis of pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, amino acids, peptides, polymers, and many other things. Additionally, this chemical causes a decrease in the levels of certain enzymes and hormones. It has also been reported to have some anti-inflammatory, antifungal, and antibacterial properties.
