    ESC Antibody (F-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgM kappa antibody that detects ESC protein of Drosophila melanogaster origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-ESC antibody (F-6) is available as the non-conjugated form. Extra Sex Combs (ESC) protein plays a crucial role in regulating gene expression during early development by mediating transcriptional silencing through the Polycomb-group (Pc-G) complex. ESC protein is essential for maintaining proper expression of homeotic genes, which are responsible for segment identity in Drosophila. ESC protein interacts with other key proteins, such as Enhancer of zeste (E(z)), which directly binds to ESC and is integral to Pc-G complex formation. Such interaction is vital for recruiting the complex to Polycomb Response Elements, ensuring silencing of regulatory genes throughout development. Proper functioning of ESC and associated proteins is critical for correct developmental processes, and any dysregulation can lead to significant developmental abnormalities.
