ERMAP Antibody (YS-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects ERMAP protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-ERMAP antibody (YS-6) is available as the non-conjugated format. ERMAP, also known as erythroblast membrane-associated protein, plays a crucial role as a cell adhesion molecule in erythroid cells, facilitating interactions essential for proper blood cell development and function. Located primarily in the membrane of erythrocytes, ERMAP is integral to the expression of the Scianna/Radin (Sc/Rd) blood group antigen system, which consists of seven distinct antigens that vary in expression among individuals. These antigens are vital for red blood cell stability and transport, having significant implications in transfusion medicine and pregnancy, as mismatches between maternal and fetal blood group antigens can lead to hemolytic disease of the newborn (HDN). This condition can result in severe health issues for the infant, including jaundice and anemia, underscoring ERMAP′s importance in blood group antigen expression.
