envoplakin Antibody (CRENV-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects envoplakin in human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and immunofluorescence (IF). Envoplakin plays a crucial role in the formation of the epidermal cornified envelope and desmosomes, which are essential for maintaining the structural integrity of the skin and protecting against environmental stressors. Envoplakin is predominantly expressed in epidermal and esophageal keratinocytes, as well as in nonepithelial stratified squamous epithelia, but is absent in simple epithelia and nonepithelial cells. Envoplakin colocalizes with desmoplakin at desmosomes and along keratin filaments in the differentiated layers of the epidermis, contributing to cell adhesion and tissue resilience.
