Enigma Antibody (H-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Enigma protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-Enigma antibody (H-12) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Enigma, also known as PDLIM7 (PDZ and LIM domain 7) or LMP1 (LIM mineralization protein), is a 457 amino acid protein that plays a crucial role in cellular scaffolding and signaling. Enigma (H-12) antibody recognizes a protein predominantly localized in the cytoplasm and cytoskeleton, with highest expression levels found in skeletal muscle, spleen, lung, and fetal liver. Enigma′s structure includes three LIM zinc-binding domains and one PDZ domain, which are essential for functioning as an adaptor that links various proteins to actin filaments, facilitating assembly of protein complexes necessary for muscle contraction and cellular integrity. Enigma (H-12) monoclonal antibody targets a protein directly involved in two key mechanisms of bone formation: direct bone formation in embryonic flat bones such as mandible and cranium, and endochondral bone formation during development of embryonic long bones, highlighting significance in skeletal development and potential implications in bone fracture repair. Alternative splicing of Enigma gene results in six distinct isoforms, each potentially contributing to diverse biological functions and regulatory mechanisms within different tissues.
