    SEE ALSO...

Endothelial Lipase Antibody (4A9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects human Endothelial Lipase protein by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Endothelial Lipase antibody (4A9) is available as a non-conjugated format. Endothelial lipase, also known as endothelial cell-derived lipase, belongs to the lipase gene family, one of the largest genetic superfamilies in living organisms, including esterases and thioesterases. Endothelial lipase functions critically in lipid metabolism, demonstrating both triglyceride and phospholipase activity for hydrolyzing triglycerides and phospholipids in lipoproteins. Endothelial lipase is mainly produced in endothelial cells and appears in various tissues, including placenta, liver, thyroid, kidney, lung, testis, and ovary. Heparin-binding properties of Endothelial lipase enhance lipoprotein interactions, supporting lipid metabolism and cardiovascular health. Mutations in lipase family members, such as lipoprotein lipase, can cause severe metabolic disorders, emphasizing Endothelial lipase′s crucial role in lipid homeostasis.

For Western Blot, is it recommended to use denatured or non-denatured conditions with Endothelial Lipase (4A9): sc-517036 antibody?

    Asked by: Randy McDonald
Thank you for your question. We recommend this antibody for use in denatured Western Blot conditions. It has not been validated for use in non-denatured conditions. Please contact our Technical Service Department for further details or inquiries.

I am interested in a anti mouse endothelial lipase antibody for use in immunoprecipitation. I see that you have two such antibodies listed on your web page but both are marked as discontinued. Are either of these available or do you have a replacement?

    Asked by: RobinZ
Thank you for your inquiry. We do have a recommended replacement for these discontinued polyclonal antibodies for endothelial lipase, sc-517036. While this antibody is currently only validated for use with human samples, it may be reactive with mouse and not characterized yet.
