EN-1 Antibody (3-RY3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects engrailed-1 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Engrailed-1 (EN-1) is a crucial transcription factor involved in the development of the midbrain and cerebellum, as well as in the dorsal/ventral patterning of limbs and the formation of the apical ectodermal ridge. EN-1 (3-RY3) antibody enables research into segmentation processes during embryonic development, helping establish the anterior-posterior axis in developing tissues. In humans, EN-1, along with EN-2 homolog, plays a significant role in the patterning of the central nervous system, and mutations in these genes can lead to severe developmental defects, often resulting in lethality. EN-1 is predominantly expressed in dopaminergic neurons located in the substantia nigra and ventral tegmentum, areas critically involved in motor control and implicated in neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson′s disease. The regulation of alpha-synuclein expression by EN-1 and EN-2 further highlights the importance of studying these proteins in understanding molecular mechanisms underlying such disorders. Anti-EN-1 antibody (3-RY3) serves as an invaluable tool for researchers investigating developmental biology and neurodegeneration.
