QUICK LINKS

Elaidamide is a structural analog of oleamide (cis-9,10-octadecenoamide) which is a sleep-inducing fatty acid amide found naturally in cerebrospinal fluid. It effectively inhibits rat microsomal epoxide hydrolase and also exerts inhibitory effects on porcine pancreatic and human synovial phospholipase A2 (PLA2). Moreover, in vivo experiments have shown that elaidamide, administered at a dosage of 10 mg per animal, induces natural sleep patterns in rats.
