QUICK LINKS

EITC is a thiocyanate fluorescein derivative molecular probe. EITC is a member of lysine-reactive dyes. This fluorescent dye specifically reacts with lysine residues found in proteins. EITC finds utility in quantifying epidermal growth factor levels in biological samples, and its fluorescence can be observed using a microscope or spectrophotometer. Upon binding to proteins, EITC induces a reduction in fluorescence intensity, enabling detection through changes in the emitted light′s wavelength at 590 nm. Additionally, EITC acts as an inhibitor of tyrosine kinase activity, preventing the influx of calcium ions into cells.
