SEE ALSO...

eIF4H Antibody (C-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects eIF4H of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-eIF4H antibody (C-6) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. eIF4H, also known as eukaryotic translation initiation factor 4H, plays a crucial role in regulating protein synthesis by enhancing eIF4A activity within the translation initiation complex, thereby facilitating mRNA secondary structure unwinding and promoting ribosome assembly. This function is vital for efficient translation of mRNA into proteins, essential for cellular function and growth. eIF4H is predominantly localized to the perinuclear region of the cytoplasm and exists in two isoforms, with the short isoform primarily expressed in liver and kidney, while both isoforms are found in lung, pancreas, testis, and spleen. eIF4H′s importance is underscored by its association with Williams-Beuren syndrome (WBS), a genetic disorder leading to various developmental issues, including cardiovascular and musculoskeletal abnormalities, highlighting the critical role of proper protein synthesis in human health.
