SEE ALSO...

eIF4GII Antibody (R16S) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects eIF4GII protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-eIF4GII antibody (R16S) is available as a non-conjugated monoclonal isotype antibody. eIF4GII protein, also known as eIF4G3, plays a crucial role in the initiation of translation in eukaryotic cells, which is essential for protein synthesis and cellular function. eIF4GII (R16S) monoclonal antibody is a key component of the eIF4F complex, which binds to the 5′ cap of mRNA and facilitates the recruitment of the ribosomal preinitiation complex, thereby promoting the assembly of the ribosome at the start codon of mRNA. eIF4GII protein is located in the cytoplasm, where eIF4GII interacts with other translation initiation factors, including eIF4E and eIF4A, to unwind mRNA secondary structures and ensure efficient translation. eIF4GII protein is 1,585 amino acids long and shares 46% homology with eIF4GI, highlighting functional importance in the translation process. Understanding eIF4GII′s role in translation initiation is vital, as dysregulation of this process can lead to various diseases, including cancer.

Can sc-100732: eIF4GII (R16S) monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: TinTin
Thank you for your question. Yes, sc-100732: eIF4GII (R16S) is recommended for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
