eIF-2α Inhibitor II, Sal003 is a potent cell-permeable analog of the eIF2alpha phosphatase inhibitor salubrinal (sc-202332) with enhanced aqueous solubility. This compound may act to prevent dephosphorylation of eIF-2alpha which may act to regulate the late phase of long-term potentiation (LTP) and memory (LTM). This enhanced phosphorylated state of eIF-2alpha is shown to prevent L-LTP and suppress memory in mice.
