QUICK LINKS

Edrophonium chloride is an acetycholinesterase (AChE) inhibitor. Edrophonium Chloride, the chloride salt variant of edrophonium, is a cholinesterase inhibitor known for its fast-acting and short-duration effects with parasympathomimetic activity. Its mechanism involves the prevention of acetylcholine breakdown through specific binding to the catalytic site. Studies have demonstrated its ability to inhibit AChE activity in various sources, including human red blood cells, purified calf forebrain, and purified octopus brain, with Ki values of 0.2 µM, 0.2 µM, and 0.4 µM, respectively.

Hello, I bought a 250 mg ampoule with you. I would like an information: for how long can I store Edrophonium Chloride after having reconstituted it with water?

Asked by: MiFacin
Thank you for your question. This chemical is soluble in organic solvents such as ethanol (10 mg/ml), DMSO 2 mg/ml), and DMF (0.5 mg/ml) which should be purged with inert gas. Organic free solvents aqeuos solutions can be prepared by directly dissolving in PBS pH 7.2, 10 mg/ml. We don’t recommend storing longer than 1 day in solution.
