EAP1 Antibody (C-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects EAP1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). EAP1 (C-9) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. EAP1, also known as enhanced at puberty protein 1 or interferon regulatory factor 2 binding protein-like, is a 796 amino acid protein that belongs to the IRF2BP family and is primarily localized in the nucleus. Expression is notably high in the heart, with moderate levels in skeletal muscle and pancreas, and lower levels in the brain, kidney, liver, testis, thyroid gland, and lymphocytes. EAP1 plays a crucial role in female reproductive function, acting as an upstream transcriptional regulator of neuronal networks, particularly during puberty when expression increases significantly in the medial basal hypothalamus. EAP1 is involved in gene transcription, functioning as an activator of the gonadotropin-releasing hormone I promoter and a repressor of the synenkephalin promoter, highlighting importance in reproductive health and hormonal regulation. The gene encoding EAP1 is located on human chromosome 14q24.3, which contains approximately 700 genes and spans 106 million base pairs, constituting about 3.5% of human cellular DNA.
