Dynamin Inhibitor II is a cell-permeable cationic surfactant that reversibly inhibits Dynamin I GTPase activity (IC50 = 3.15 muM) by targeting the PH domain and interfering with phospholipid binding. Dynamin Inhibitor II may act to block Dynamin I-dependent SVE (synaptic vesicle endocytosis) in rat brain synaptosomes and Dynamin II-dependent RME (receptor-mediated endocytosis) in non-neuronal HeLa, A431, and COS-7 cells. Inhibition is competitive with respect to PS and noncompetitive with respect to GTP. Dynamin Inhibitor II is an inhibitor of Dynamin II.
