DYDC2 Antibody (9H8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects DYDC2 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-DYDC2 antibody (9H8) is available as the non-conjugated isotype antibody. DYDC2 protein, also known as DPY30 domain-containing protein 2, plays a crucial role in regulating gene expression and chromatin modifications, particularly through involvement in histone methylation. DYDC2 is part of the DPY-30 family, which is conserved across species from yeast to humans and is essential for dosage compensation of sex chromosomes, a process ensuring equal expression of genes from sex chromosomes in both males and females. DYDC2, comprising 177 amino acids, includes a short motif similar to the dimerization motif found in the regulatory subunit of protein kinase A, allowing formation of a four-helix bundle during dimerization. This structural feature influences DYDC2′s ability to interact with other regulatory proteins, thereby modulating gene expression. Notably, knockdown of DYDC2 mRNA results in male sterility due to impaired sperm motility, highlighting DYDC2′s importance in reproductive biology.
