Dorsomorphin dihydrochloride may act to act as a potent and selective inhibitor of AMPK (AMP-activated protein kinase Ki = 109 nM), induced by AICAR and metformin. Dorsomorphin dihydrochloride also inhibits bone morphogenetic protein type 1 receptors (ALK2, ALK3, and ALK 6). Dorsomorphin dihydrochloride is not thought to show significant activity on structurally related kinases.
