SEE ALSO...

DOCK 4 Antibody (R6Y) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects DOCK 4 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). DOCK 4 (R6Y) antibody is available as the non-conjugated form. DOCK 4 protein, also known as Dedicator of cytokinesis protein 4, is a cytoplasmic peripheral membrane protein that plays a crucial role in cellular processes by acting as a guanine nucleotide exchange factor (GEF) for the small GTPase Rap 1. This activation is vital for the regulation of adherens junctions, which are essential for maintaining cell-cell adhesion and tissue integrity. DOCK 4 is expressed ubiquitously, with the highest levels found in the prostate, ovary, and skeletal muscle, highlighting its importance in various physiological contexts. Structurally, DOCK 4 features an N-terminal SH3 domain, a C-terminal proline-rich region, and two internal DOCK homology regions, DHR1 and DHR2, which are critical for its function and interaction with other proteins. Notably, defects in the gene encoding DOCK 4 can lead to the inactivation of Rap 1, contributing to the development of several cancers, including ovarian, prostate, glioma, and colorectal carcinomas. Additionally, alternative splicing of the DOCK 4 gene results in the expression of four isoforms, further diversifying its functional roles in cellular signaling and cancer biology.

I want to know the immunogen sequence of sc-100718: DOCK4 (R6Y) monoclonal antibody, could you tell me?

Asked by: daji
Thank you for your question. The exact epitope recognized by this monoclonal antibody has not been determined. However, the immunogen is mapping within the last 100 amino acids at the C-terminus of DOCK 4 of human origin.

Can sc-100718: DOCK 4 (R6Y) monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: AbPolly
Thank you for your question. Yes, sc-100718: DOCK 4 (R6Y) is recommended for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
