Dkk-1 belongs to the dickkopf family and is a secreted protein with two cysteine rich domains and is involved in embryonic development and many human diseases. The regulation of Wnt signaling and Dkk1 inhibition has implications for bone formation and homeostatis. Dkk-1 can inhibit Wnt signaling by binding to its receptors LRP5/6 and kremen1/2 to form a complex, which can prevent Wnt from binding to LRP5/6
