Direct Blue 2 is a dark blue-black powder that dissolves in water, resulting in a deep purple to black color, with a solubility of 35 g/L at 85°C. It is slightly soluble in ethanol. When thick sodium hydroxide solution is added, it exhibits a purplish-red color. This dye is used for cellulose fiber dyeing, and it shows a significant affinity with the fibers at temperatures ranging from 60 to 80°C, resulting in a high dye absorption rate.
