QUICK LINKS

Dipropofol is a sedative-hypnotic agent that acts as a positive allosteric modulator of the GABA-A receptor. It enhances the inhibitory effect of GABA by increasing the duration of the opening of the chloride channel, leading to hyperpolarization of the neuronal membrane. This results in the suppression of neuronal activity. Dipropofol can inhibit NMDA receptors and modulate the release of neurotransmitters such as dopamine and serotonin.
