QUICK LINKS

Dioxacarb, an organophosphorus pesticide, finds wide application in agriculture, horticulture, and public health. Its versatility extends to various commercial products, encompassing insecticides, herbicides, fungicides, and rodenticides. Additionally, it serves as an insect repellent and a wood preservative. The mechanism of action of dioxacarb revolves around the inhibition of acetylcholinesterase, an enzyme responsible for the breakdown of acetylcholine. Acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter involved in nerve impulse transmission, becomes accumulated in the nervous system due to the enzyme inhibition caused by dioxacarb. Consequently, this buildup induces paralysis and eventual demise of the targeted pests.
