QUICK LINKS

Dimetridazole is a compound that functions as a nitroimidazole antimicrobial agent. Its mode of action involves the inhibition of DNA synthesis in susceptible microorganisms by interacting with their DNA. This interaction disrupts the replication and repair processes, ultimately leading to cell death. Dimetridazole′s mechanism of action at the molecular level involves the formation of reactive intermediates that bind to DNA, resulting in the inhibition of enzymes involved in DNA synthesis. This disruption of DNA synthesis ultimately impairs the growth and survival of susceptible microorganisms.
