QUICK LINKS

Dimaprit dihydrochloride is an analogue of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine and acts as an agonist of the muscarinic acetylcholine receptors. It may act to be a highly specific histamine H2-receptor agonist. When administered in vitro, it may act to relax guinea pig parenchymal strips and tracheal spirals that had been constricted by the H1 receptor agonist, 2-PEA, or by carbachol. Dimaprit dihydrochloride is also an inhibitor of NOS1. It has antispasmodic, anti-inflammatory, anticonvulsant, and neuroprotective properties, as well as the ability to modulate the activity of enzymes and receptors.
