Diethyldithiocarbamic acid sodium salt trihydrateis a dithiol compound that forms an NO-reactive spin-trapping agent when complexed with Fe2+. The Fe2+-DETC complex is described to be an efficient selective NO trap for EPR experiments, and the nitrosyl-iron-dithiocarbamate NOFe(DETC)2 reacted compound is identifiable with a characteristic triplet EPR signature. Diethyldithiocarbamic acid sodium salt trihydrate is an inhibitor of SOD and NF κ B.
