QUICK LINKS

Dibenzylfluorescein (DBF) is a fluorescent dye utilized extensively in various scientific explorations as a fluorescein-based organic dye. Dibenzylfluorescein′s versatility is evident in its application across fluorescence microscopy, flow cytometry, and high-throughput screening methodologies. The dye′s ability to bind with molecules allows it to be used in the visualization of cellular components and processes, as well as in the detection of DNA, RNA, and proteins. Employed also in the synthesis of fluorescent proteins, Dibenzylfluorescein plays a critical role in identifying potential targets in drug discovery processes. It operates by absorbing and emitting light in the visible spectrum, a phenomenon known as fluorescence, which occurs when Dibenzylfluorescein transfers energy from a bound molecule to emit light.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Various publications cite the use of DibenzylfluoresceinVarious publications cite the use of Dibenzylfluorescein (DBF) for fluorescein fluorescence detection. DBF is dealkylated by cytochromes P450 (especially CYP2C8, CYP2C9, CYP2C19, and CYP3A) to form a fluorescein ester. The fluorescent fluorescein product can be quantitated after the addition of base, which hydrolyzes the ester and increases the pH for optimal fluorescein fluorescence detection. -SCBT Publication Review
