Dexamethasone-biotin is a synthetic glucocorticoid hormone widely used in laboratory experiments. It is a derivative of the natural hormone cortisol, and is used to study the effects of glucocorticoid hormones on cell proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis, as well as gene expression, epigenetics, metabolism, cytokine production, immunological responses, and inflammation. It may act to increase the expression of anti-inflammatory proteins, such as interleukin-10, while decreasing the expression of pro-inflammatory proteins, such as tumor necrosis factor-alpha. Furthermore, it can decrease the production of reactive oxygen species, which can cause oxidative damage to cells. Additionally, Dexamethasone-biotin can increase the expression of genes involved in DNA repair and cell cycle regulation, which can help protect cells from damage.
