Dermatan sulfate (Chrondroitin Sulfate B) is a mucopolysaccharide containing iduronic acid. Dermatan sulfate is abundant in skin, arterial walls, and heart valves, and has been shown to inhibit adenylate cyclase from rat hepatic membranes. Dermatan sulfate acts as a potent mediator of fibroblast growth factor-2 responsiveness.
