QUICK LINKS

Deguelin is a compound found in plants such as Mundulea sericea and Mundulea suberosa. It is a rotenoid, a type of flavonoid, and may have the ability to inhibit the activity of certain enzymes involved in cell growth and proliferation. Deguelin targets the PI3K/Akt/mTOR signaling pathway, which is dysregulated in cancer cells, leading to uncontrolled growth and survival. By blocking this pathway, deguelin has the potential to inhibit the growth of cancer cells and induce apoptosis, or programmed cell death. Deguelin has anti-inflammatory properties, which may be attributed to its ability to inhibit the NF-κB signaling pathway.
