    SEE ALSO...

DEF6 Antibody (SW-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects DEF6 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-DEF6 antibody (SW-9) is available as the non-conjugated form. DEF6, also known as Differentially expressed in FDCP 6 or IBP, is a 631 amino acid protein predominantly expressed in T and B cells of the immune system. DEF6 is localized in the nucleus, cytoplasm, and cell membrane, where DEF6 plays a crucial role as a phosphatidylinositol 3,4,5-trisphosphate-dependent guanine nucleotide exchange factor (GEF). By activating Rho GTPases such as Rac 1, Cdc42, and Rho A, DEF6 is integral to regulating cell shape, movement, and polarity, which are essential for proper immune responses. Notably, DEF6 contains a pleckstrin homology (PH) domain that is vital for DEF6′s interaction with phosphatidylinositol 3,4,5-trisphosphate, facilitating recruitment to the plasma membrane. This recruitment is critical for DEF6′s function in mediating signaling pathways that influence T helper cell activity and overall immune response, highlighting DEF6′s importance in maintaining immune system integrity and function.

Can sc-81992: DEF6 (SW-9) monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

    Asked by: Trav11
Thank you for your question. Yes, sc-81992: DEF6 (SW-9) is recommended for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining

I was wondering which exact epitope of def6 does the ab recognise?

    Asked by: Rubin
Thank you for your question. The exact epitope recognized by our mouse monoclonal antibody, DEF6 (SW-9): sc-81992, has not been characterized. The antibody is raised against a recombinant protein corresponding to an N-terminal region between amino acids 1-336 of human DEF6.
