DEF6 Antibody (SW-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects DEF6 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-DEF6 antibody (SW-9) is available as the non-conjugated form. DEF6, also known as Differentially expressed in FDCP 6 or IBP, is a 631 amino acid protein predominantly expressed in T and B cells of the immune system. DEF6 is localized in the nucleus, cytoplasm, and cell membrane, where DEF6 plays a crucial role as a phosphatidylinositol 3,4,5-trisphosphate-dependent guanine nucleotide exchange factor (GEF). By activating Rho GTPases such as Rac 1, Cdc42, and Rho A, DEF6 is integral to regulating cell shape, movement, and polarity, which are essential for proper immune responses. Notably, DEF6 contains a pleckstrin homology (PH) domain that is vital for DEF6′s interaction with phosphatidylinositol 3,4,5-trisphosphate, facilitating recruitment to the plasma membrane.
