DEAE-Cellulose is a cellulose ion-exchange adsorbent used in ion exchange chromatography. DEAE-Cellulose has been used to isolate glycans from intestinal mucus in order to study C. jejuni transcriptional responses to avian or mammalian intestinal mucus from different host species. DEAE-Cellulose has also been used to purify tannase isoforms from the fungus A. fumigatus CAS-21. Additionally, DEAE-Cellulose has been used to separate lipids found in in plasma membrane microdomain sites.
