DaRS Antibody (14S6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects DaRS in mouse, rat, and human samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). DaRS, or aspartyl-tRNA synthetase, is a crucial enzyme in the protein biosynthesis pathway, responsible for the specific aminoacylation of tRNA with aspartate, which is essential for the accurate translation of genetic information into proteins. DaRS localization in the cytoplasm is particularly important, as this is where the ribosomal machinery operates, and any dysfunction can lead to errors in protein synthesis, potentially resulting in cellular stress or disease. Additionally, DaRS is part of a multisubunit complex that facilitates the transfer of Asp-tRNA to elongation factor alpha 1, highlighting its role in ensuring the efficiency and fidelity of protein synthesis. The N-terminal extension of DaRS, which is unique to vertebrates, contains a putative amphiphilic helix that acts as a regulatory switch, enhancing the enzyme′s catalytic function by stabilizing the Asp-tRNA interaction. With dual phosphorylation sites and ability to form homodimers, DaRS is a dynamic protein that plays a pivotal role in cellular metabolism and the maintenance of protein homeostasis.
