    SEE ALSO...

DAPK2 Antibody (X15) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects DAPK2 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-DAPK2 antibody (X15) is available as the non-conjugated format. Death-associated protein kinase 2 (DAPK2), also known as death-associated protein kinase-related protein-1 (DRP-1), is a calcium/calmodulin-regulated serine/threonine kinase that plays a crucial role in cellular signaling pathways. DAPK2 binds to calmodulin and undergoes autophosphorylation in response to elevated intracellular calcium levels, which is essential for kinase activity. DAPK2 is primarily localized in the cytoplasm and is expressed in various tissues, including the heart, lung, and skeletal muscle. DAPK2′s ability to phosphorylate myosin light chain (MLC) as an exogenous substrate is significant for regulating cytoskeletal dynamics and cell motility. Furthermore, DAPK2 exhibits considerable homology to DAP-kinase, a protein known to mediate interferon (IFN)-γ-induced apoptosis in HeLa cells, suggesting a role in apoptosis and tumor suppression. Given DAPK2′s involvement in these critical processes, DAPK2 is considered a potential tumor suppressor gene, making DAPK2 an important target for research in cancer biology and therapeutic development.
