    SEE ALSO...

D-type cyclin [HHV8-encoded] Antibody (94B) is a rat monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects D-type cyclin protein of HHV-8 origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and immunofluorescence (IF). Anti-D-type cyclin [HHV8-encoded] antibody (94B) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. D-type cyclin protein plays a crucial role in regulating the cell cycle, particularly during the G1 phase, where D-type cyclin is essential for the transition to the S phase. This regulation ensures cells only proceed to DNA synthesis when ready, preventing uncontrolled proliferation that can lead to tumorigenesis. The D-type cyclin family, including cyclin D1, has been implicated in various cancers, as D-type cyclin interacts with cyclin-dependent kinases to phosphorylate the retinoblastoma protein, thereby releasing E2F transcription factors that promote the expression of genes necessary for DNA replication. Understanding D-type cyclin function is important for developing targeted therapies in oncology, as D-type cyclin dysregulation is often associated with malignancies.
